Created in 1991 by Bernard Pierquin, Association Alouette is a French humanitarian NGO, entirely run by volunteers and independent of any political, philosophical and religious affiliation. Its main purpose is to educate disadvantaged children in the Philippines, through a network of sponsorships, managed on-site by the twin association, Alouette Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (AFPI). It is also a shelter for girls who are victims of abuse in their families on the island of Palawan.
